Court Lawsuits

Court Lawsuits can be matters that are trivial in nature, and they can also be some of the most horrendous crimes ever committed. There are many different reasons why a lawsuit may be brought against someone and it could be a civil lawsuit or a criminal lawsuit. Some cases have even been through both criminal and civil such as the case of OJ Simpson. There are different things that define which court the case will be heard. The age of the defendant is one big factor. If it is a criminal case, whether it was a misdemeanor or a felony will determine which court hears the case. Lawsuits brought against people and organizations can have such a varying degree of severity that it is impossible to group them all. In criminal court lawsuits, it is the State that brings charges against a person or entity and in civil court; a person can bring a lawsuit against another person or a business. Many court lawsuits involve a jury, but some do not. There are different reasons for this as well. Lawsuits come in many different sizes and shapes and sometimes the outcome can be surprising, even to those involved.
