Texas Couple Files Asbestos Lawsuit In Charleston
A couple in Charleston, Texas has filed a lawsuit against almost 40 companies regarding asbestos exposure. They filed a suit against several companies in a Kanawha Circuit Court claiming that the man, Theodore Alderman, was exposed to asbestos while at the workplace and has fallen ill as a result.
The lawsuit sites that Alderman was was exposed to asbestos while working as a pipefitter for Union Carbide for over four decades. He claims that he was exposed to high levels of asbestos during this time which lead to his contraction of meothelioma.
Mesothelioma is a deadly lung disease that has been directly linked to asbestos exposure. The Texas couple is suing over the fact that they claim the companies were negligent in their use of asbestos in manufacturing and the sale of their products.
Alderman's wife, Nancy, claims that she has also suffered due to the loss of services and companionship from her husband. Together, the Texas couple is seeking compensatory and punitive damages from the companies.
